The Stadium built in 1929/30 remained much the same until 1950 when some wooden bleachers were added, There were then no further changes in the Stadium in which the New Westminster Frasers played.
1979 saw the wood covered bleachers along First Street removed. These bleachers ran from just past the rightfield foul pole to centre field. At the end of the bleachera in deep centre field there was a gate that a ball hit in that location would run under the fence. Of course when I was umpiring a games in the Stadium this event of the ball rolling under the fence happened more often than the odds would make it possible. It always resulted in an arguement as to the placement of runners.
In 1961 I remember Frank Torre the older brother of Joe hit one over the rightfield bleachers roof and it landed across First Street when the Vancouver Mounties played one of their day games.
